Our Team

Preston Cox, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, CPT

 

Preston is a Nevada licensed physical therapist (PT) and certified in dry needling. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Washington. Following PT school, Preston has also taken course work for certification with kinesiotaping, cupping, and red light therapy. Prior to becoming a PT he served over 8 years active duty in the US Coast Guard. While in the Coast Guard he lead a unit soccer team to finals in multiple community leagues, and developed a strong passion for competing in endurance racing (marathons, triathlons, and obstacle course racing). To date he has completed 3 ultra-marathons, 17 marathons, five triathlons, and three half-marathons. These interests led him to become a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with the American Council of Exercise. He enjoys working with patients from all backgrounds, with a specialization of helping athletes, recreational runners, and veterans achieve their personal goals through an exercise centered approach. Since becoming a PT he has also developed a passion in helping those with complex and chronic pain return to prior levels of function that have not been experienced in several months or years.

 

When Preston is not working he enjoys playing soccer, working out, watching sports (Seahawks, Sounders, Kraken, Desert Dogs), off-roading, hiking, riding motorcycles, and playing guitar.

Physical Therapy:

During your first visit, your trainer will assess your movement patterns, strength, and discuss your health goals. These findings will be used to develop an exercise plan to progress towards goals and improve any deficits identified during the initial assessment.
